Located along a charming, tree-lined road, this hostel offers a truly authentic experience in the heart of hutongs, allowing guests to immerse themselves in the real Beijing. The area is filled with affordable and delectable food options, offering a taste of local cuisine. it is conveniently situated near the west railway station, providing easy access for travelers exploring different parts of the city.
The cleanliness of the common areas and restrooms could be improved, as stated by some previous guests.

I recently stayed at Templeside in Beijing for a few days. The staff, especially Emma, were incredibly helpful and provided excellent information. The location was central enough, with a metro station only 1km away, making it convenient to explore the city. The breakfast was surprisingly good, with fresh fruit and a tasty toasted sandwich. The hostel itself had a charming atmosphere, with rooms surrounding a courtyard that had tables and games. The strong wifi signal throughout the property was a bonus, and the competitive price made it even better.
I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I liked very much the Templeside hostal. I felt like I was at home. Bobbie was very friendly and helpful to expline us the most important place to visit in Beijin. There are 2 subway station near the hotel (20 minutes by walk). We went every day to the Xisi Station and one time we took the bus number 7 to take to the Zoo. We booked the Vip deluxe Room.
We think that the first time it is not easy to get to the hostal. The taxi didn´t know where it was. It would be useful add more detail in the address and the map.

Well It is just like another kissass. They try to be nice and accomadating but they are not. It took the taxi drive to find this hotel 40 minutes and it is really in a hideous place, so don't fall for what is mentioned as far as the vicinity goes in the Booked.net. It is utterly exaggerated for the location of this hotel. You will be lost easily. The bedroom is not as comfortable as you would think and you can tell from the picture, so it was not worth my money. Also, the hotel manager will try to charge you extra 3% for using your credit card and it was not even mentioned by the Booked.net and so to save themselves money for paying tax to the government, they ask for cash instead. It was very upsetting and it was not fair of both Booked.net and the hotel for mentioning it beforehand.

I had a fantastic stay at this place! The location was perfect, as it was close to various metro lines and historic attractions. It was really convenient to explore the city center and get to different places. The service at the hotel was top-notch, with room service, car hire, and housekeeping available. The staff was friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout my stay. The hotel had excellent amenities, including heating, air conditioning, and tea/coffee facilities in the room. I also enjoyed the sitting area and terrace, perfect for relaxing and taking in the surroundings. The room itself was well-equipped with a flat-screen TV, and the overall design and ambiance of the hotel were lovely.
I highly recommend this hotel to all my friends.

Fantastic place. Really quite hutong in amongst chaos of Beijing. In an area close to Behai and Hohai but not particularly touristy. Right next to Xisi underground station. Lovely staff particularly Emma who's a laugh. I'd stay here again. If, however, you are loud and like staying up late be aware that families do stay there and walls are thin. It is possible to be young and go there though.

The room was very clean. Great water pressure, albeit you shower next to the toilet. But, that is the norm. My bed was comfortable for china. It was quiet when I was there, but the rooms all go out into the courtyard. I stayed in the deluxe, instead of the courtyard guest house. It was smack dab in the middle of the hutong. I couldn't have been happier. They are my people.

Staying at this place was like immersing myself in local life, with traditional accommodation, free Wi-Fi, and neighborhood tours. Plus, the location was convenient for exploring Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.
I just loved how there was nothing modern or convenient about staying in a residential area. So authentic!

We had a fantastic stay at a guesthouse in a traditional quartier. The comfortable and spacious rooms were perfect for our family of four, and we particularly enjoyed the rooftop seating area. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we felt safe walking around the area at night. It was a great experience staying in the old streets, and the location was convenient for exploring the city. the guesthouse was lovely and made our stay enjoyable.
There was nothing I didn't like about our stay 😊.

Deluxe room was very good, breakfasts were tasty, but a bit expensive, even for Beijing. Good stuff.

The owner of the hostel was incredibly kind and accommodating. They upgraded our room to a smaller one without any extra charge, giving us a private bathroom and the entire room to ourselves. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, making us feel welcome and taken care of. We even had access to a kettle for a nice cup of tea or coffee. I would definitely choose to stay at Templeside again in the future. I highly recommend this hostel for its exceptional service and comfortable accommodations.

The place has a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. The courtyard is beautiful and the location in a hutong and close to Xisi subway station is fantastic and very suitable to explore the city. I stayed in a single room with private bathroom. The room was simple but very clean. (The bed was quite hard but that seems to be normal in China.) I surely would have liked to stay longer than 3 nights.
